Name Router 4.1-7 Update
The release of 4.1-7 fixes two problems which may affect sites under certain
circumstances.
Problem with Name Router 4.1-6 and earlier with PMDF 5.2
Due to a small bug in the PMDF API library,
Name Router will fail to dequeue the first message in its input queue. If
the channel program has two or more messages in the queue it will successfully
process all but the first. No error message indication is given.
Innosoft has provided a fix for this in their
PMDF Tech
Support pages . If your PMDFSHR.EXE is later than 10-Dec-1998 then you
should not encounter the bug.
To fix the problem, either download the new PMDFSHR image, or upgrade Name Router
to version 4.1-7 (which avoids triggering the bug). When upgrading
from an earlier version of 4.1, you do not need to perform the post
installation tasks listed, nor do you need to regenerate your configuration or
NAMES.DAT database. Note that Name Router 4.1-7 will also work with earlier
PMDF versions.
Missing routines in Dummy PMDF library
Previous versions of Name Router 4.1 were missing two routines from the
dummy PMDF library. This library is used where Name Router is being installed
on a system without PMDF. It would result in spurious linker
error messages on linking. The subsequent operation of Name Router would not
be affected.
This problem did not apply to sites running Name Router as a PMDF channel
program.
